This category is a test of the strength of your basic skills. Strong basics serves as the cornerstone for intermediate to more advanced skills. Hence, it is an important aspect of the craft. Entrants are required to build the kit with no modifications, additional details and/or enhanced parts. Alternate color schemes are highly recommended.
Judging will be based on the following criteria:-

Do I need to remove seam lines and nub marks?
Yes, you should attempt to remove all visible seam lines (including those on weapons) as well as nub marks as much as possible.
Can I change the original colour scheme?
Yes, we encourage alternate colour schemes.
Can I add additional decals?
Yes, similar to colour schemes, you can use after market, customized decals/stickers.
Can I add weathering and battle damages?
Yes, weathering is allowed but not battle damage.
Can I add LEDs?
No, adding LEDs is considered as modification unless the product comes with LED installation.
Can I add metal parts, pla-strips or plates and/or photo-etched parts?
No, additional details or add-on parts are strictly prohibited.
Is the base/diorama required?
Although base and diorama is not a requirement, a base to secure the kit is highly recommended.
Bootleg products allowed?
No, all bootlegs, knock-offs are strictly prohibited. Contestants will be disqualified without notice.
Can I sharpen the "v-fins" and certain parts?
Yes, you can sharpen "v-fins" and other parts but not to the point that the orignal shape to be altered.
Can I re-scribe or deepen existing panel lines?
Yes, you may do so. However, do take note this strictly applies to existing panel lines.
Can I add additional weapons?
No additional weapons are allowed unless it forms part of the mecha setup. I.e. Perfect Strike.
ADVANCE
This category covers all aspects of the craft. Entrants are called upon to display their myriad of skills and techniques to bring their creations from paper to life. We expect entrants to uphold the highest standards to the best of their abilities and at the same time, push their limits, exploring uncharted frontiers and forge new skills.
Judging encompasses all aspects of the craft. Do be reminded that foundation is as important as the advanced skills/techniques. Therefore, expect a high level of scrutiny from the panel of judges.

Back by popular demand and growing interest in the ladies! Contestants are called upon to push their limits by bringing to life their ideal “Musume” in the most imaginative and captivating way.
Similar to the Advanced Category, the foundation is as important as the advanced skills/techniques. Judging will encompass all aspects of the craft. Come be a part of this rapidly growing segment of plastic scale modelling!

RULES & REGULATION
Tetsujin is open to all hobbyists and enthusiasts from all nationalities except employees of Hobby Art Group and their immediate families.
The main entry/ base kit must not be a knock-off, resin or product of similar nature. Seek clarification from the organizers if in doubt.
After-market products, add-ons or materials of similar nature are permitted.
All entries must be wholly constructed and finished by the participant himself/herself.
Offensive and provocative subjects are strictly prohibited.
No restrictions on the number of entries each participant can enter for all categories. However, do note that registration fee (non-refundable) of S$ XXX per entry applies.
The entry must be submitted by the participant personally.
The organizer shall endeavor to ensure entries are adequately protected. However, they will not be liable for any loss and damage that may occur during the event.
Every entry will be inspected and rated by appointed judges. The judges’ decision is final and no appeal/ further correspondence will be taken into consideration.
Participants in contravention of the rules and regulations set out above will be disqualified without further notice.
